The Chanticleer Foundation is a non-profit organization that operates a 48-acre public garden in Wayne, PA. The garden is open to the public daily Wednesday to Sunday, from April 1st to October 31st. Chanticleer provides an opportunity for guests to relax and enjoy the various gardens and vistas on the property. The Chanticleer staff works in a professional and team-oriented environment. Continual training and education in the green industry is encouraged.

Job description:

The groundskeeper position will perform various duties associated with turf grass and landscape maintenance. Examples include: daily mowing, trimming, and blowing of garden lawns and walkways, moving and cleaning garden furniture, fertilization and spot spraying of lawns. Other duties include planting various ornamental trees and shrubs, maintaining fence lines, stone roadways, and drainage systems. The groundskeeper reports to the Assistant Grounds Manager and works in cooperation with the grounds manager and grounds team to accomplish the daily and weekly tasks for the property.

Requirements:

-Possess a valid state driver’s license or id.
-Have one to two years of turf grass/ landscape work experience.
-Possess the ability to communicate in a professional manner.
-Have a willingness to learn new grounds maintenance techniques.
-Able to work independently or with others on tasks.
-Able to lift 50 lbs or more.
-Have prior experience working with machinery.
-Attend a daily work schedule, Monday thru Friday: 7:30am – 4pm. Some limited weekend work is required during the year.
